Fire Sale (Everything Must Go)

This exhibition and related short documentary, HOME, are the result of almost a year’s worth of work exploring the effects of the housing market crash and subsequent recession on the community of Tracy, Ca. The original project, entitled Inhabit Your City: Voices of Tracy, intended to capture as many voices and viewpoints on the subject as possible. As Artist-In-Residence at the Grand, I returned to my former town between October and December 2012 to interview close to one hundred residents, business owners and community leaders of Tracy. This project was made possible in part by a grant from The Creative Work Fund, a program of the Walter and Elise Haas Fund supported by the generous grants from ArtPlace, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the James Irvine Foundation.
